In April, our friends, clients, and neighbors joined us at Bowl America Falls Church for Strike Out Homelessness, a night of bowling to support PathForward, the Arlington nonprofit that has served our unhoused neighbors since 1988. What started as an idea to bring the community together for a good cause turned into an evening we won’t soon forget.
Between raffle tickets, donations at the event, and online contributions that kept coming in after the last frame was bowled, and with the Magnificent Manors Team match applied, the community raised over $1,450 for PathForward.
This month, Kevin Fraser, Realtor® with the Magnificent Manors Team, had the privilege of visiting PathForward’s Homeless Services Center in Arlington to deliver the check to Liz Nohra, VP of Philanthropy, and Scott Miller, Community Engagement Manager. Standing inside the facility where the work happens every day was a powerful reminder of what those dollars really represent: a bed for a neighbor with nowhere to sleep, medical care for someone who has been going without, and around-the-clock support at the hardest moments of a person’s life.
PathForward’s impact speaks for itself. Since 1988, they have quietly done the work of getting Arlington residents off the streets and into stable homes. 96% of participants in their housing programs are still housed five years later. That statistic doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because of the extraordinary staff, volunteers, and community partners who show up for people every day.
To everyone who bowled, donated, brought a plus-one, shared the invite, or dropped some cash in the raffle jar, thank you. This event worked because of you.
To the PathForward team, thank you for the partnership. We can’t wait to keep the momentum going.
