Ballston Quarter is going to be better than you think it is!

As the developers from Forest City say, “it will crush boredom!” It’s literally a mall that has been turned inside out. The sleek architecture and open pedestrian walkway will allow for endless options of shopping, dining, entertainment venues, events, residences, office space and an open-air courtyard. The Quarter Market food hall has already opened, many retailers have begun opening their doors, and the 22-story luxury apartment building has begun leasing its 406 units this spring.

When will this elaborate construction project be complete? The spaces will open on a rolling bases over the next few months with a final completion date of 2020. For a complete directory list, click here.

Don’t worry! Some of your favorites will remain. Macy’s, Regal Cinemas, Sport & Health Club, Kettler Capitals Iceplex, CVS, Capital One and Lenscrafters are all still there!

A fun fact for your next trivia night… the Ballston Common Mall originally opened in 1951 and was one of the first major suburban shopping centers in the DC area (thanks Wikipedia).
