Celebrate Black History Month with “Halls Hill” – A Memoir

“My Hall’s Hill Family”, by Wilma Jones, is an important piece of written history. An autobiography and historic memoir of Jones’ family and the community of African Americans that lived, worked, and raised their families within the confines of the Halls Hill community during the Jim Crow era. Formed by former enslaved people after the Civil War who were walled-off from the surrounding white neighborhoods and denied the most basic services – the residents of Halls Hill and their strong sense of community helped it survive and thrive.

Jones’s extensive historic research fills this book. A magnificent way to celebrate Black History Month. A must read!
